THE DESIGNER BEHIND BANNO
Hello there !
My name is Wajma the designer behind the label - By Baano . I enjoy designing simple, practical, classy, colorful yet happy clothes for women, keeping in mind that even if they are modest, they still need to be reflective of their individuality and personality. I aim to create versatile clothing that can be worn on any occasion.
What is my design ideology?
My design ideology is heavily influenced by my cultural heritage and my urban environment. I grew up in a household where my parents were always stylishly dressed. This taught me the importance of dressing well, even if you're not spending a lot of money. I also drew inspiration from the city streets, where I saw people of all different ages, cultures, and styles coexisting. This mix of influences has shaped the way I design clothes, which are simple, practical, and versatile enough to be worn by anyone.
What drives me as a designer?
That's a question I get asked a lot. And to be honest, it's a difficult question to answer because there are so many factors that contribute to my design process. I could talk about my love of color, or my fascination with traditional textiles, or my fascination with the modern city... but I think the root of it all is my desire to make people happy. I want to create clothes that make people feel beautiful, confident, and happy. I want to create clothes that make people feel like they can conquer the world. And I think that's at the core of my design ideology: to make people happy through fashion.
What was the foundation of my design ideology?
Coming from a family of artists, creativity has always been a driving force in my life. After studying fashion design and digital marketing, I was eager to start my own label. I wanted to create clothes that were simple, practical, and classy-clothes that would make women happy. I also wanted to create a line that would celebrate my cultural heritage and the urban influence that has been such a huge part of my life. I believe that design should be accessible to everyone, and I'm proud to say that my line is affordable without ever sacrificing quality.
How can my design ideology be empowering?
With my design ideology, I want women to feel empowered. I want them to feel confident in their skin and be able to express themselves through fashion. I want them to feel like they can be themselves, without having to conform to society's standards. I also want my designs to bring happiness and joy, and to make women feel beautiful and confident.
How do I make my clothes?
I simply design all my clothes so that they can be flattering on any body type. I also give a lot of attention to the color and print combinations to make sure they're playful and happy. I want my clothes to make you feel beautiful and confident. My design process usually starts with sketches, then I move on to the computer to create a digital pattern. After that, I use a sample garment to test the fit and make any necessary adjustments. Once the design is finalized, I get to work on the production process.
I enjoy designing simple, practical, classy, colorful yet happy clothes for women keeping in mind that fashion is not about trends but staying true to yourself. You can have a successful brand with class and style by being consistent with what you believe in even if no one believes in it other than yourself.
